Young Jim Carr is a Chicago born, Colorado raised singer song writer currently based in Eugene Or. Young Jim is a singer song writer who conveys his longing for truth and love in his own unique poetic way,accompanied by a unique  hammer claw playing style.

Young Jim Carr got his nickname back in the late 80's when he was a roadie for a touring band called Little Woman. While on the road he bought a guitar from a second hand store and started playing.  Working for the band Little Woman taught Young Jim that there is more to music than what is on the radio.. The most influential person for Young Jim is Portland Or. Hall of Fame inductee Jerry Joseph  who indirectly taught Young Jim that  the music must come from the heart to convey truth.

 Young Jim is currently working on his first record.It is a concept record comprised of songs written around the country,and at his favorite river spots. To release in spring 2019. The highlight of Young Jim's career, was opening for the band Jerry Joseph and the Jack Mormons in Virginia city Montana,  summer 2017
