Kliemann & Haggard live at PublicHouse

The Jimmy Haggard Band has tickled our ears with their booty-shakin’ blues, and this duo will do the same. The duo is Chris Kliemann (keyboard player in the band) and Jimmy Haggard on acoustic guitars and vocals. The duo performs acoustic blues, roots rock and country. It is kind of like an unplugged version of the band, without the drums and bass.

McKayla Marie.... live at PublicHouse

From McKayla Webb: I’m McKayla Marie, and I am a singer-songwriter from Eugene, Oregon. I have been playing guitar since I was nine years old and writing songs since much earlier than that. In fact, my parents have a video of me performing my first ever original song when I was around five years old. Since then, I have written over a hundred songs and have got to perform them in front of so many amazing audiences. I mostly sing country music, but I have a tendency to break out of the genre, especially in my original music. Songwriting is important to me because I love being able to tell stories that give people something to relate to. My favorite reaction is when someone tells me that a story I wrote was just what they needed to hear as it matches their life perfectly. This is such a special way to get to connect to people, and I think that this is something that makes music so powerful.

We look forward to having this young talent to PublicHouse.

Gumbo Groove’s music is an adventure in genre bending. They call it Fungrass, played on traditional acoustic instruments. Snatches of David Grisman-like riffs give way to New Orleans second line simmers, while shades of the Grateful Dead can be heard wending amongst the chordal carousings. Always friendly, always fun, Gumbo Groove is a musical incident looking for a place to happen.

Estelle Miller & Kacie Corinne at PublicHouse

Estelle Miller has been creating her own music since she was a warbling 6 year old, believing the sound of her voice out the window would attract a prince who would whisk her away.
Older and wiser (and much less dramatic), she now makes life-inspired music for herself and the friends around her, to promote community with the help of story telling and melody. Estelle will be playing from 7-8pm.

From Kacie Corinne: I am 24 years young. I’ve been playing music since I was 15 in Roseburg, Or. I play a variety of music but enjoy newer country. I tend to have a little something for everyone. I play guitar and keyboard as well typically. Speech teacher by day and musician by night. Easy to listen to/relaxing/fun music. When I am not playing I’m enjoying being a foster mom. Kacie will be playing from 8-9pm.

shaking thunderclaps that rattled the horses who promptly leapt their stables. After rounding up the herd, the band struck a chord as they were trying to warm up with hot cocoa around the wood stove. Then Huck Mulligan and Beth Milton joined JD in song. Hearing this moving melody, Steve Ivy fashioned a single-string bass out of a broom handle, a wash tub and some beard hair. Jackson Breitbach made a fiddle and bow out of a cigar box, horse hair and a deer antler. And Cletis Reaves built a pedal steel guitar (minus the pedal) out of a 2×4, nails and fishing line.
