Truffles… maybe you’ve heard of them! Truffles are a form of fungus that grow underground with tree roots. Oregon is home to 4 native truffle species, and they are widely celebrated in February because it's the traditional time for the truffle harvest season. Truffle Harvesting is usually during the rainier months in Oregon, and the climate in the Valley is ideal for growing truffles because of the cool temperatures, steady rainfall and shady forests. As a matter of fact, in 2024, thanks for the dedication of The Oregon Truffle Festival, Oregon Governor Tina Kotek designated February as Oregon Truffle Month.
The Oregon Truffle Festival (OTF) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization and one of the country’s most esteemed culinary events. Devoted to Oregon’s native truffles and the burgeoning cultivation of European truffles in the state, the festival has been featured in Departures, the Wall Street Journal, The Economist, The New York Times, Saveur, and National Geographic, among others. In 2020, OTF was voted the #5 Specialty Food Festival in the country by readers of USA Today. (oregontrufflefestival.org)
Truffles are a sought-after ingredient for chefs, and the chefs at PublicHouse have requested an event that is truffle-centric! This is the VERY REASON why we’ve decided to make it a celebration! Truffles are a versatile ingredient that can be used in many ways, including: Truffle cheese and charcuterie plates, Truffle bread, Truffle butter, Truffle-inspired dishes, and even Truffle stouts.
FOOD: Each kitchen at PublicHouse is going to feature truffles throughout the week, and we are chompin’ at the bit to find out what dishes they will be preparing. AND— as an added bonus, you’ll receive a raffle ticket with each truffle dish you try. Hand the tickets into the bartender to be entered into the Truffle 26 Raffle. Stay tuned for all of the tasty creations you can expect.
Shalosh: Lamb Stroganoff with oyster mushrooms, labneh sauce, truffle infused tagliatelle pasta, chives & fresh shaved black truffle
Moi Poki Grill: Lobster Roll with Truffle Butter
Black Market BBQ: Brisket, Truffle Cheese (Sottocenere al Tartufo) & Apricot Jam Panini
Sugar Kisses: White Chocolate & Macadamia Nut Cookie with white truffle-brown butter & stuffed with black truffle-marshmallow
& more to be announced!
BEVERAGES: The BeerHall and Whiskey Lab crews are planning a couple of drink specials as well so make sure to check out their offerings and recommendations for truffle beverage pairings.

Chris Baron makes music, solo or with a band. He travels with a kick drum and guitar and some pedals. The songs have rock & roll roots, with folky senses and alternative methods. Chris composes music on the acoustic guitar, banjo or uke, and he says that his listeners connect with the simple heart of the three-chord song. We are stoked Chris is here to kick off a great month of music!

Seasoned vets of the music industry, Tim McLaughlin and Ricardo Llamas have played music together for almost 20 years in salsa, rock, and even folk bands. Now they have formed a music duo, armed with carbon fiber travel guitars and about 2000 combined horsepower from 2-wheeled knobby tire adventure motorcycles. No music venue or campsite will be spared from their ability to traverse any terrain to get to a show.
Inspiration comes from Los Lobos to Van Halen, jazz greats to salsa music legends. Play it loud and get dusty - keep it sweet, and get lucky.
